Description: This is a small neighborhood park tucked in at the end of quiet residential street. The park has a large open turf
area suitable for throwing the Frisbee, playing baseball or other activities needing lots of space.

Description: Small community park located adjacent to the Kenai Spur Hwy approximately mid-way
between Kenai and Soldotna. Accessible from the Unity Trail, the park is located on a bluff overlooking
the Beaver Creek drainage. This park is one of the oldest parks in the system but recently
upgraded in 2016 with new playground equipment.

Description: Elevated bird-viewing platform provides expansive views of the Kenai River tidal flood plains
and a portion of the Alaska Range, including Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Spur. Opportunities for wildlife viewing include
harbor seals, beluga whales, estuary and migratory birds, birds of prey, coyotes, bear, caribou and moose.
Coral Seymour Memorial Ball Park (10 Acres)

Description: Property is leased from the City by the Peninsula Oilers Baseball Club, Inc. Founded in 1974,
the Alaska Baseball League includes five teams throughout Alaska. Teams play 44 league games and approximately
5 non-league games from June through August each summer.

Kenai River Access (walking access only)
Description: One of the few areas in the Lower Kenai River providing public access for bank fishing. Park is a popular
designation particularly in the fall during the silver salmon season for both locals and visitors alike. This site
provides a great example of a bank restoration project similar to what is occurring in other sections
of the Kenai River. No overnight camping and parking is limited.

Outdoor Ice Skating (Winter)
Description: Community park featuring a pond commonly used for non-motorized water activities
(swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc.) and is maintained during the winter months for ice skating. The shore
of the lake offers a sand beach area and is a great area to watch the kids splash in the water. A .37 mile gravel trail
circles the park with access to the Ryan’s Creek Trail off Marathon Rd. This park is conveniently located near
a large commercial shopping center.
Elson Rest Stop (.72 Acres)

Description: Rest stop is situated along the Unity Trail between Kenai and Soldotna at approximately mile 18. A short
gravel trail extends from the Unity Trail into a small clearing with a picnic table.

Description: Small community park and contains a bronze statue of a Boy Scout overlooking
the Kenai Cook Inlet. Interpretive displays point out many physical features of the lower Cook Inlet.
This is a great area just to sit, relax, and enjoy the extensive views overlooking the lower
Cook Inlet, tidal lands, and mouth of the Kenai River.

Description: Meandering trails wrap around this small parcel of Airport property adorned with
wildflowers. Seeded in the spring, the field transforms into a wildflower display each fall providing visitors
with amazing photography backdrops.

Description: This is a community baseball park and home of the Kenai Little League. Complex consists of one softball field,
two Little League baseball fields, and one Senior League field. The Senior League field was formally home
to the Kenai Peninsula Oilers (summer college baseball) before their eventual move across town in the 1970’s
and presently used by Kenai Little League, American Legion Baseball, and High School baseball.

Description: Both locations provide access to the beaches of Cook Inlet and mouth of the Kenai River
offering a perfect location for walking, beach combing, kite-flying, and fat-tire biking. There are no
amenities on the south beach. There is a large parking area provided on the north beach but parking is very limited
during the Kenai River Personal Use Fishery (July) and camping/parking fees apply during this time at both locations.
Vehicular traffic on the north beach toward the mouth of the Kenai River is prohibited.

Description: This a viewing area overlooking the Kenai River tidal flood plains. Many migratory birds frequent this area,
including other wildlife, such as caribou, coyote, moose and occasionally bear. One can view the
surrounding mountains here, including the Alaska Range and Kenai Mountains.

Steve Shearer Memorial Ball Park (Adult Softball Fields)
Skateboard Park
Description: This linear greenstrip features a large pavilion where area residents come together for community
events and activities. The adult softball fields are located adjacent to this area and home to the
Kenai Softball Association. An outdoor skateboard park, community gardens, and a food forest are located in this vicinity.
Kenai Sports Complex (24 Acres)

Description: Area contains 24 acres including a large gravel parking lot, access road and four natural turf soccer fields.
The fields are extensively used by two organizations providing soccer programs, including the
Kenai Peninsula Soccer Club and Boys & Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula.

Description: This is a community memorial park and a focal point of town. Throughout the park are sidewalks
containing memorial plaques and plantings purchased by individuals in memory of loved ones. Included are a
Veteran’s and Mariner’s memorial, water fountain, town clock, gazebo and beautifully landscaped gardens.
The gazebo area has been a popular wedding location for many years.

Description: Large community park located next to the bluff overlooking the lower Cook Inlet. A playground area, restrooms,
two pavilions and a large turf area are located at the north entrance to the park. Two additional pavilions are located at the
south end of the park along with a basketball court and a sanded volleyball court. Walking trails (1.4 miles)
meander throughout the park, including a Pathways to Poetry leading to the Kenai beach.
The close proximity to the Kenai River made this area attractive for early settlement by the Dena’ina people; faint remnants
of underground cold storage pits and traditional Dena’ina house pits remain throughout the park today.
Old Town Park (.4 Acres)

Description: This is a small neighborhood playground park. Park is fenced in and provides some turf areas and a

Description: Community trail system includes .75 miles of trails commonly used for walking, biking and skiing.
This area is also home for the 18-hole Kenai Eagle Disc Golf Course. The main entrance for the disc golf course is
located at the end of Tinker Lane (behind the Kenai Peninsula Oilers baseball field).
Scenic Bluff Overlook (1.0 Acres)

enjoy all the views the lower Kenai River and associated tidal wetland areas have to offer.
